Policy
What we collect when you ask for an estimate, what we do with it, and how to have it removed. Questions go to info@edinburgfenceandgate.com.
Last updated 21 October 2026.
When you submit the estimate form we receive the name, phone number and email address you type, the service you choose, and anything you write in the project notes. The notes field is optional and you decide what goes in it.
We do not ask for your address on the form. If a site visit is arranged we take the address at that point, by phone or email.
We do not collect payment details anywhere on this site, and we never ask for them to produce an estimate.
The form also sends information about how you reached the site: the first page you landed on, the website that referred you, any campaign tags in the link you clicked, and the page the form was submitted from. None of it identifies you personally.
To keep that accurate across a visit, your browser stores it locally on your own device for 30 days under the name efg_first_touch_v1, then discards it. It stays on your device, and you can clear it any time by clearing your browser's site data.
To respond to your request, quote the work, and contact you about that job. That is the whole purpose.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for an estimate, and we do not send newsletters.
Form submissions are delivered and stored by Netlify, which hosts this website. They process the data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms.
If the work is carried out by an independent contractor we work with, we pass on only what that person needs to reach you and quote the job.
Estimate requests are kept while the enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email info@edinburgfenceandgate.com from the address you used, or call us. We will confirm once it is done.
This site is meant for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
